Prof. (Dr.) Arvind Kumar Agrawal is a prominent advocate for global academic collaboration, with a career dedicated to fostering international partnerships and addressing complex societal challenges. Prof. Agrawal’s academic journey began with a Gold Medal in Sociology from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, in 1976. This early recognition set the stage for a career marked by scholarly distinction and a relentless pursuit of knowledge. He furthered his studies at Heidelberg University, Germany, where he conducted doctoral research under the DAAD Research Fellowship from 1986 to 1989. This experience enriched his academic perspective and research methodologies.

Prof. Agrawal’s research interests are diverse, spanning social stratification, cultural traditions, and the sociology of law. His notable works include “Max Weber and Modern Sociological Theories” and “Ethnicity, Cultural Traditions & Folk Culture in Transition.” His prolific scholarly output has earned him acclaim in academic circles.

In addition to his research, Prof. Agrawal has demonstrated exemplary leadership in academic institutions. As the First and Founder Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Bihar (MGCU), he was pivotal in establishing the university’s academic framework. His leadership led to the creation of fifteen departments and seven schools of studies, fostering a robust and innovative academic environment.

Prof. Agrawal’s commitment to global academic collaboration is evident in his partnerships with institutions such as the University of Rome and AIIMS Patna.
