1986 – 1989: Awarded German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Research Fellowship under Indo-German Cultural Exchange Programme.
1994: Awarded University Grants Commission Career Award, India.
2005: DAAD Visiting Professorship under re-invitation Program.
2009: Visiting Professor in Sociology at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar.
2011: Awarded an International Award for contribution to Sociology by the International Sociology Association (ISA-RCSL).
2022: Awarded Life Time Achievement Award by Rajasthan Sociological Association.

2002: Became Professor at the University of Rajasthan.
