Prof. Agrawal’s academic journey began at the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, where he excelled in his postgraduate studies in Sociology, earning a Gold Medal in 1976. This achievement marked the start of a lifelong commitment to scholarly pursuits and intellectual leadership.
His quest for knowledge led him to pursue doctoral research at Heidelberg University, Germany, supported by the prestigious DAAD Research Fellowship from 1986 to 1989. This experience broadened his academic horizons and deepened his expertise in Sociology.

As the First and Founder Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Bihar (MGCU), he played a pivotal role in establishing the university’s academic framework.
